Talk: Edge Machine Learning for AI-Enabled IoT Devices

Talk: Edge Machine Learning for AI-Enabled IoT Devices

Abstract:
In a few years, the world will be populated by billions of connected devices that
will be placed in our homes, cities, vehicles and industries. The devices, with
limited resources, will interact with their surroundings and users. Many of these
devices will rely on machine learning models to decode the meaning and behavior
of sensor data in order to make accurate predictions and decisions. The bottleneck
will be the large number of connected objects that may congest the network.
Hence the need to incorporate intelligence into end devices using machine
learning algorithms. Implementing machine learning on such edge devices
improves network congestion by allowing computations to be performed close to
the data sources. The objective of this talk is to provide a review of the main
techniques that ensure the execution of machine learning models on low-
performance hardware in the Internet of Things paradigm, paving the way for the
Internet of Things aware.
